1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
The first thing that comes to my mind is to lead by example. Change can be challenging, whether it is personal or for social cohesion. Everyday the clock resets, and we all are allotted 24 hours- what we do in this time is what makes the change happen. I love this quote by Socrates, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
My husband, Hos, is a neurologist. He is the most brilliant, hard working, and determined person I have ever come across. Coming from a closed society in Iran, his remarkable ambitions and achievements to pursue and practice medicine in the United States are nothing short of inspiration and awe. Hos is also an avid historian- he is one of the few and rare geniuses in our lifetime.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
My father played a pivotal role in my life, and my memories with him are truly cherished. His journey to America has been integral to my platform, as I want to leave a legacy of what he started. My fondest memory with him was coming home crying from school because a classmate made fun of my name. He taught me resilience and pride, while standing up for myself. I’ll never forget that lesson.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
I was ambitious in my academic goals, very loyal to my friends (I still have the same group of best friends since high school), and definitely a future fashion maven in the making! While I was shy and artistic, those who knew me at a personal level knew my grand love for life and my ability to help others, whether it was in extracurricular activities or simply steering through teenage life hurdles.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
My husband is not keen on material possessions- I would rather get him an experience. I know Hos would absolutely love to write a book about his life experiences. A publishing agreement would make him so absolutely thrilled, and so many people can identify with his sentiments in starting a new life in a new country.
